Every country needs good leaders and within every impoverished classroom are promising individuals who need motivation to lead - which is the mission of the Oscar Fierro Foundation.
Oscar Fierro left El Salvador for the U.S. in 1989, but the love for his country never waned. He has always been, first, a philanthropist; and second, a fashion designer. Leadership is a trait that, since Oscar's elementary school days, comes naturally to him; and was the motivation that led him to create the Oscar Fierro Foundation in 2004. While growing up, Oscar experienced the disadvantages of attending impoverished schools within a third-world country. Many of those schools, tucked away in small corridors or set up outside under a canopy of trees, are still there today. But despite hardships, Oscar always possessed the motivation to better himself, his environment and those around him. From the first grade on, Oscar was president of his class each year, and by the age of 11, he had already raised money to improve his school. From an early age, he was dedicated to leading and making a difference. | |  |

The Oscar Fierro Foundation supports students and their schools within developing countries. Each year, the Foundation spends months repairing an existing school or building a new one within an impoverished community, giving children the essential tools needed to further their education, and a chance at a better life.
Throughout the year, the Foundation also provides students with desks and school supplies. It also sponsors a leadership program that empowers and rewards the president of each classroom for their leadership efforts, and encourages them to give back to their school and community. Helping children helps our future, and education is the only way to break the cycle of poverty. Oscar Fierro is making an impact on his community - locally and abroad, one school at a time. |
