| Oscar Fierro combines his passion with inspiration to create a fashion line filled with sexy silhouettes, modern elegance, embellished details and a fabulous fit.
Considered a "short" businessman, Oscar, like millions across the globe, has seen the world from a level that can be judgmental and discriminating. Research has shown that short people often have a more difficult time finding their "dream" mate, and even make less money than taller people. But, Oscar has always believed that the fruits of the tree can be reached by anyone who wants them, whether by having long legs, or just as effectively, by using a step stool. Either way, a chic wardrobe always helps. For as long as he can remember, finding well-fitted, quality clothing had been difficult for Oscar. So, he decided to approach his everyday problem with a stylish solution and design his own line of clothing. He approaches being small in stature with style and flare, and designs clothing with the small person in mind. Yet his designs, tailored with vibrant hues and exquisite fabrics, perfectly fit people of all heights, shapes and sizes. The designer embraces his passion for everything in life.people, community and fashion.and believes that fashion is an essential communications tool that empowers everyone to make their own statement, and to tell the stories of who we are without saying a word. Oscar was born in 1973 in El Salvador, and at a young age, dreamed of the big city. Each day after school, Oscar and his three siblings helped out on his family's farm, but laboring outdoors under the sun was not his idea of living fabulous. In his spare time, Oscar learned how to sew, and took classes in art and television broadcast, and of course, fashion.
At the age of 14, Oscar began working at a local television station as an actor in a sketch comedy show, as well as for a radio station as a news broadcaster. He was always interested in beautiful women and their sense of fashion, and had an eye for knowing who possessed the most stylish qualities. With the help of his mother, he became a scout to find beauty pageant contestants. Oscar left El Salvador for the U.S. in 1989, but his love for his country never waned. He has always been a philanthropist, and leadership is a trait that, since Oscar's elementary school days, comes naturally to him. This led him to create the Oscar Fierro Foundation. Growing up, Oscar experienced the disadvantages of attending impoverished schools within a third-world country. But despite hardships, the motivation to better himself, his environment and those around him was never lacking. From the first grade on, Oscar was class president every year, and by the age of 11, he had raised money to improve his school. He was dedicated to leading and making a difference. Every country needs good leaders, and within every impoverished classroom are promising individuals who need motivation to lead - which is the driving force behind the Oscar Fierro Foundation. The Oscar Fierro Foundation supports students and their schools within developing countries. Once a year, the Foundation repairs an existing school or builds a new one within an impoverished community, giving children the essential tools needed to further their education, and a chance at a better life. The Foundation provides desks and school supplies, and also sponsors a leadership program to empower and reward all classroom presidents for their leadership efforts, encouraging them to give back to their school and community. Oscar Fierro - the man and the label - displays an unceasing exuberance in his forward-thinking attitude throughout his business and life. Whether creating an image for fashion, or designing a school to assist those he cares most about, Oscar Fierro is making an impact on his community at a local and global level. |
